My Story
Photography has always been a part of my life. I joke that if photography could be considered a love language, it is definitely mine. From the days of film, and yes, even disposable cameras, I have been documenting life around me. To those who have walked with me, in any season, can testify this to be true because their lives are well documented as a result. I’ve moved from disposables, to my mother’s film cameras, to point and shoot digitals, and now to my DSLR’s. Abilities and skill have thankfully improved in time, composition has grown stronger, and that passion, that longing to capture little details that relish the memories of what this season is to me, that too, has only grown stronger.
Becoming a wife and then a mother grew my love for the little details all the more. Our house is full of the hustle and bustle of six precious littles running about, making messes as fast as we can clean them. Being the mother to Kai, Xander, Selah, Quinton, Max, and Jubilee has brought me far more joy and purpose than I could have ever imagined. Daily routines and what can seem like the ordinary and mundane all of a sudden stand out to me as moments of great responsibility and purpose. These tiny humans in front me, changing by the day, curious, exploring, testing limits, and growing faster than I’d like challenge me to remain ever so present. These days that seem so packed full of work, community, making intentional time for each other and our children. These ordinary days are the days I long to remember so many little details of little curls that can’t be tamed and diapers that droop because my son has been playing too hard for me to stop him and change that soggy bum. I want to remember the unprompted “I love you” and how they reach for my hand when we walk. I want to remember that face they give the hubs and I as they are testing their limits and pushing on our every last nerve. I might be undone and a hot mess in that moment, but by golly I want to remember it all.
what that means for you...
I believe these days, these seemingly tiny moments, are not just interruptions and blips on the radar of our lives, but rather they are the fine details that make the pages of our story turn. I also believe that your season of life, whatever it may be, should be captured as well. My hope is to not only capture beautiful photos, but to challenge you to think upon what little moments you want to remember, and then to be intentional with those moments while I follow you around.
Yes, I’ll capture that moment when you are all looking at me and smiling, but all that happens in between, that’s the story I want to tell. So when we meet, I will ask about those details. I want to know how you will look back upon this season of life. I want to know the moments you savor when your head hits the pillow each night, the things that have been difficult and brought tears, and the moments you couldn’t stop laughing. I want to follow you around as you feel like a glorified taxi service, carting around your crew of kids from one practice to another. I want to listen in on that dining room table full of family as you eat together. Those people sitting around the table and in your car are what matter. You’ve got a story that is uniquely yours and I want to capture it as only you can share. So tell me…what’s the extraordinary in your every day ordinary?!
Giving back
One of my favorite details about starting this company is my hope for it to be so much more than simply taking beautiful, keepsake photos for you. My family is rooted in Jesus and ministry is what we do. When you partner with me to capture you, it allows me to continue to do what I love for organizations and ministries. I offer deeply discounted work for organizations that are doing good and working with you allows me to even give it away!
My future hope is to feature an organization on my site every quarter. During that quarter, a percentage of every shoot you pay for will be used to help cover their photography and creative needs. I will not only be working with the featured organization during their quarter to fulfill any photography/marketing needs that they may have but also sharing their story of what they do and how you can get further involved here!
When you work with me, you help me to work with them, and not much can bring me more joy than colliding our worlds! I cannot wait for you to be a part of this story!
