Things I Want To Remember

It’s true, you know, what they say about the days being long, but the years moving far more quickly than we want. The summer nights are getting shorter, the kids have gone back to school, schedules are filling, and we find ourselves in the changing of seasons once again.

The changes of seasons and our crew of littles getting older can feel so bittersweet, but mostly sweet. And while we are making the most of these remaining warm nights, where the sun doesn’t set too soon, checking off as many things as we can from the summer & fall bucket lists, I find myself often pausing trying to take it all in. It's not so much the places, but much more about the faces, the tiny details, and that extraordinary in our every day ordinary that I want to relish in just a bit longer.

I want to remember how it feels to rock our last baby to sleep each night, even when the nights are sleepless. I want to savor the nursing sessions, and play on repeat the sound of our toddler saying “pock-ados” instead of popsicles. I want to watch our 4 year old head off to his first day of Pre-K with confidence and hear all about the hotel he built for the daddy long legs in the woods. I want to remember how insanely noisy our dinner table is, our daughter's first concert, mastering back dives and back flips off the docks at MeMa & PePa’s, and shutting down our pool on a regular basis. These are the things I want to remember.

It is my great honor to capture so much more than pretty pictures. I hope to capture a glimpse of your story, to help you savor a little moment in time. From new love to diapers to empty nesters, I want to capture it all. My hope is that when you see your photos, all those little details come flooding back. So tell me, what do you want to remember?
